In rare circumstances (such as illness or family bereavement) an extension of time may be sought from the Assistant Dean for Teaching and Learning (Rosie). Please complete the ‘Application for Extension’ form (link is provided below) to request an extension. Once completed, a copy of the form will automatically go to Rosie.
Two of the most common reasons given for requiring an extension are medical reasons or the busyness of ministry. If you are seeking an extension for medical reasons you must produce a doctor’s certificate. If you request an extension due to busyness of ministry, this will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but such requests are usually turned down except in unusual/exceptional situations (such as ministry obligations that have come up unexpectedly). For ministry events you know about in advance such as Easter camps, you will need to plan ahead to make sure that you stay on top of your assignments.
To avoid a late submission penalty, a student must request an extension by 12pm on the Friday before the due date.
If your extension is approved, you'll be sent a new due date and the late submission penalties will not apply unless the assignment is submitted after the revised due date. The new due date will be uploaded to Pathways Connect and must be noted on the assignment coversheet.
Note that students will be granted a maximum of three extension per year.
